SIP’s Xietang Sub-district hosted an event on Apr 26 to mark the 105th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, a patriotic campaign launched by Chinese youth in 1919 against imperialism and feudalism.
At the event, ten young people from higher education institutions and enterprises received the prizes for the winners of the top three places in an earlier essay competition organized by the sub-district authorities.
Additionally, the “Youths’ Projects”, a program aimed at encouraging young people to participate in grassroots practices and serve the society, was launched, and three projects under cooperation between communities in the sub-district and universities were signed.
The universities’ students will respectively participate in the projects to help improve the management of Nan’ao Business Street, impart knowledge on anti-fraud to residents in Jingying Apartment Community, and carry out a vocational training program for the middle-aged and elderly.
