Recently, ZEISS’ new R&D and manufacturing base in APP Science & Technology Park in SIP High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone (SIP-HMITZ) was completed.
ZEISS, a German manufacturer of optical systems and optoelectronics, broke ground on the project in October 2022, and plans to put into operation next month.
The project, with a total floor space of 31,619.84 square meters, costs about RMB250 million. It will be dedicated to management, R&D, manufacturing and global distribution of a variety of microscopes and measuring instruments. About 55,000 microscopes and 1,500 precision measuring instruments are expected to be made in the first year of its operation.
The company recently gave a thank-you banner to SIP-HMITZ authorities for their support for the project.
